Enrichment/ Extra Curriculum
Enrichment gives students opportunities to try new and varied activities that may not strictly fit into the curriculum, but that develop character, resilience and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals during their seven-year journey at AGS.
Enrichment helps to teach life skills that benefit students beyond the classroom, and can develop an appreciation for cultural and community issues, teamwork and social responsibility.
Our Autumn Term offer of Enrichment Clubs is now available.
Our extra-curricular sessions include After-School Clubs, Lunchtime Clubs, and Year 11 Intervention Sessions. Most clubs run between 3.15pm and 4.15pm unless stated otherwise.
Activities on offer for Autumn 2025 include Debate Club, STEM Club, Art and Textiles Club, plus a wide offer of sports clubs including Darts, Trampolining, Netball, Football, Table Tennis and many more

AGS Enrichment Autumn Term Schedule
KS3 Art Club – This Term's Theme: Christmas
This term, our KS3 Art Club is embracing the festive spirit with creative projects inspired by Christmas! Students will design and build gingerbread-themed houses using paper and cardboard, adding their own imaginative details. We’ll also craft gingerbread-style wreaths, combining seasonal colours and patterns to create beautiful decorations. It’s all about fun, creativity, and celebrating the holiday season through art!

KS3 Football Club
We were delighted to welcome football back after the half-term break! The girls and boys have returned full of energy and enthusiasm, eager to get back on the pitch. This week, they’ve been working on developing their passing accuracy, ball control, and teamwork through a range of fun drills and small-sided games. It’s been fantastic to see such great effort, positive attitudes, and growing confidence across all year groups. We’re looking forward to another brilliant half term of football!

Trampolining Club
Our Trampolining Club continues to be one of the most popular enrichment activities this term, with fantastic levels of student participation each week! It’s been great to see so many pupils getting involved, developing their confidence, and refining their trampoline skills. Recently, students have been working hard on a range of new techniques, including seat drops and swivel hips, and have started to explore the exciting challenge of the backdrop. The progress and enthusiasm from everyone involved have been brilliant to see. Well done to all our trampolinists for their dedication and energy.

Music Practice
A range of students from all year groups at Ash Green have been involved in Music enrichment at lunch times. They have used this opportunity to develop skills on a variety of instruments, form ensembles with peers and create their own original music. Not only has it been amazing to watch them make huge steps in their musical journeys, but they have also grown so much in confidence and will hopefully be performing sometime soon.

STEM Club
This week in STEM Club, our young scientists took on a fiery challenge, creating their very own fire extinguisher! Using their growing knowledge of chemical reactions, they learned how mixing certain substances can safely produce carbon dioxide to put out a small flame. The experiment was a brilliant success, and everyone enjoyed seeing science in action while learning about fire safety and real-world applications of chemistry.

Axiom Maths Circle: Where Curiosity Meets Challenge!
Every week, a group of enthusiastic Year 7 and Year 8 students gathers for Axiom Maths, a vibrant after-school circle that transforms maths into an adventure of discovery. Led by passionate teachers, students dive into real-world problems that stretch their thinking and spark creativity. It’s not about memorising formulas. It’s about exploring ideas, collaborating with friends, and learning that struggling is part of the journey. The impact goes far beyond the circle. Students gain confidence, resilience, and a newfound excitement for maths that spills into their regular lessons. They become role models, helping classmates and inspiring others to embrace challenges. Axiom Maths is also energising the whole maths department, creating a culture of curiosity and teamwork. With plans to expand and connect with other schools, the future looks bright and full of fascinating problems to solve.
