Ofsted 2017

A note from the Principal

Ash Green School underwent a one day Section 8 Ofsted Inspection on Tuesday 28 March 2017. I am very pleased to announce that Ash Green School ‘continues to provide a good’ standard of education.

We are pleased with the outcome particularly the many outstanding features identified by the inspection team, in particular that:

‘Above average attainment has been sustained across the majority of subjects at Key Stage 4, and rates of progress are good for most pupils.’

‘Senior leaders and other leaders at the school have a shared vision and convincingly demonstrated drive, determination and capacity to improve the school.’

‘Pupils who join Ash Green School with below expected standards in literacy and numeracy for their age, are well supported, and almost catch up with their peers in Year 7’

‘The school provides an orderly and welcoming ethos. Pupils are polite and courteous around the school’

‘Pupils are provided with a wide range of opportunities to learn outside of the formal curriculum. Pupils are encouraged to raise funds for charities, have opportunities to visit local businesses, theatres, universities, sports events, historical sites and international exchange opportunities.’

‘There is a strong culture of safeguarding within the school through effective systems that are in place. Leaders including governors, take their safeguarding responsibilities seriously’

Whilst we are pleased with the outcome of this inspection we are resolute in our determination to provide you with an outstanding school in the future and very much look forward to working with you to achieve this.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the numerous messages of support, students for their excellent conduct and honesty and staff for their hard work during what was a challenging but rewarding period.

I am pleased to share the outcome of the short inspection here for you to read through at your own leisure.

Yours Sincerely,

Harry French
