2011 GCSE results demonstrate outstanding achievement for a second year in a row.
65% 5 A* - C including English and Maths
100% 5 A* - C in any subject
AGS students have successfully sustained the schools recent history of improvement with yet another outstanding set of results. Whilst the 65% is two points lower than last year, the students’ performed at 16% above their challenging target. This is almost exactly the same value added performance as last year.
The results demonstrate that AGS staff, students, governors and parents can work together to make a difference, producing life changing results for the students. We are particularly proud of our performance in English and Maths. It is yet again a fantastic achievement that so many of our students succeeded in these core subjects - at all levels of pass and not just C grade and above.
The bar has now been set at an outstanding level for future years.
AGS is oversubscribed in 2011
In September 2010 we have an intake of 160 new students. IN 2011 this increased again to 176 students, seven above our limit. Due to prudent planning we have been able to accommodate this surge in popularity. This dramatic increase on previous years is a measure of the trust that the local community is prepared to invest in our school. We take this responsibility very seriously indeed.
